Rosie Perez

KimRosie Perez was born Rosa Maria Perez 6 September 1964. She is an American actress. Her breakout moment came with Tina's character in Do the Right Thing (1989), followed closely by White Men Can't Hop (1992). Perez's performance in Fearless (1993) brought her an nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress along with other honors. Her film roles as a star in the past include It Could Happen to You (1994), The Road to El Dorado (2000), Pineapple Express (2008) as well as Birds of Prey (2020).Perez earned three Primetime Emmy Award nominations for In Living Color (1990-1994) and another Emmy nomination for her performance in the film The Flight Attendant (2020-present). She has also been in Broadway productions, including The Ritz and Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune and Fish in the Dark. She also hosted the 18th season of ABC's talk show The View. She was a student at Grover Cleveland High School, in the Ridgewood neighborhood in Queens. The year 1999 was the year her mother was living in poverty in Woodside Houses when she died of AIDS-related complications.
