Lisa Edelstein (born Lisa Edelstein) is an American actor best known for playing House in the Fox medical drama House. Her family was from Wayne where she was a part of a traditional Jewish tradition. At the age of 18, she emigrated in New York City to study at the Tisch School of the Arts. Soon after, she was involved in the club scene, creating enough fuss to draw the attention of the media. Then she used her experience along with her fame and training to write and compose the musical Positive Me as well as to appear in the show. She landed her first job with MTV as the host of Awake on The Wild Side shortly after. When the show was over her appearances began in the film and television industry, at first in small parts, but gradually establishing her acting career.
