Kelly Clarkson (American singer/songwriter) is a popular American following her win on American Idol's inaugural season. This win catapulted Clarkson into the spotlight and secured her a contract with RCA Records 19 Recordings, as well as 'S Records. Since her debut in the series, she has released a number of albums. Of those albums three reached number one on the US Billboard 200. The others were near the top. She is one of the biggest artists that come out of her participation in the American Idol series. She was a bit flimsy as she found recognition for her diverse musical and theme styles, often writing songs of her own. With her distinct voice and unique talent, she has received critical acclaim as well as various awards. One of her most memorable achievements is the fact that she was awarded the Grammy Award three times. In addition, she has appeared on movies and on television. She is also the author of the book for children River Rose and the Magical Lullaby and is involved in numerous charitable organizations.
